Our concept of the Joy of giving is born today. There are many Infants born at the St.Martha's hospital, Bengaluru, with poor parents. As Winter, and more importantly , Christmas approaches, we realize the joy of giving as the spirit of the season . Hence is born the 'JOY of GIVING Initiative' which is the free donation of baby startup kits to needy infants as a kind gift from the hsopital and a token of love from the I-Shine Project. I've observed that various posh hospitals give a way silver spoons and costly items to babies born in their maternity suites. why should these poor children be denied the same celebration at their birth. A child is a gift of life , and when thir birth is equally celebrated by the institution that births them, its is the best way ( I feel ) to celebrate the blessing of God's most precious gift - Life.
Although we had bought Mul-mul Cloth, it wasn't until today , when I-Shiner Vyjayanthi came did I realize the magnitude of the project. It was the most logical decision that this would not just be a one off affair. We would continue to serve 'new life' as long as we are here at St. Marthas. Can this project be a self sustaining one ? What are the chllenges that lie ahead.. Well, I'll keep you updated on that . LOL..
